Southern Fried Catfish Recipe

1. All purpose flour (1/2c)
2. catfish fillets, cut in strips (1 pound)
3. buttermilk (1/2c)
4. vegetable oil for deep frying (1 quart)
5. seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay (1tsp)
6. fine cornmeal (1 1/2c)
7. salt and pepper (to taste)
8. water (1/2c)
Method Of Preparation:-
1. Take a bowl of small size, add water, buttermilk, pepper and salt in it. Take a flat pan of large size and then pour the mixture in it.
2. Place the fish in single layer on the bottom of the pan. Turn the side of fish to coat it with mixture properly and then keep it aside to marinate.
3. Take a plastic bag of 2 gallon, add flour, cornmeal and seafood seasoning in it and mix these ingredients properly. Then add a few fish fillets into the mixture and toss them gently to coat with mixture properly.
4. Take a deep fryer, heat oil in it to 185 degrees C or 365 degrees F. Now put the well coated fish fillets, a few at a time in hot oil and deep fry them for about 3 minutes until they get golden brown color and becomes crispy. Then place the fried fish on paper towels to drain. Now the Southern fried fish is ready to serve.
